ZEBULON, NC - The FredNat bats broke through for a 5-2 win over the Carolina Mudcats on Friday night. They improved to 32-29, and Carolina is now 37-22.

Jarlin Susana did allow two Mudcat runs in the bottom of the first inning, but the Freddies picked him up in the top of the second.

Roismar Quintana and Marcus Brown each singled to begin the frame, then Cristhian Vaquero was later hit by a pitch to load the bases. Everett Cooper III drove in one run with a sac fly, followed by a walk to John McHenry which once again loaded the bases. Elijah Green followed, and quickly unloaded them with a double and a subsequent E7 to put the Nats up 4-2.

Susana locked in to complete five innings with just the two runs against him, while striking out seven ‘Cats.

Jared McKenzie tacked on a fifth run with his RBI double, as Matt Bollenbacher, Dannel Diaz, and Anthony Arguelles combined to spin four shutout innings from the bullpen to close down a 5-2 win. Susana (1-6) picked up his first win, Bishop Letson (0-3) was the losing pitcher, while Arguelles earned his first save.

In game five, Marc Davis (0-2, 3.93) takes on Josh Knothh (2-3, 4.00) in a 5:00 p.m. start.
