FREDERICKSBURG, VA - The Nationals broke open a tight game with a five-run sixth inning, to beat the Down East Wood Ducks 7-2. Fredericksburg moved to 17-8, as Down East fell to 11-13.

Brandon Pimentel got the scoring going with an RBI knock in the first inning, and another run came in for the Nats on a wild pitch.

Down East got a run back in the top of the second, when Erick Alvarez laced a single into center field to trim the score to 2-1.

Gonzales and FredNat starter Jarlin Susana settled into a groove, with each man completing four innings. Gonzales allowed just one earned run through four, with Susana matching that total. Jarlin brought some of his best stuff of the season, routinely touching and exceeding 100 MPH with his fastball.

With the score still at 2-1 going into the bottom of the sixth, three straight walks loaded the bases for the Nationals. Tyler Baca brought a run home with a single, followed by a bases loaded walk to make it 4-1 FredNats. Gavin Dugas then delivered the big swing with a two-run single, extending the lead to 6-1. Finally, a sacrifice fly from Armando Cruz made it 7-1 Fredericksburg.

Down East added one run in the eighth, but Mason Denaburg wrapped up a 7-2 Friday Night win for Fredericksburg. Samuel Vasquez (3-0) was the winning pitcher, while Jose Gonzales (0-2) was saddled with the loss.

In game five, Marc Davis (0-0, 5.40) faces off against Alejandro Rosario (0-1, 1.17) in a 7:05 start.
