The Frisco RoughRiders will always try their hardest to play games when they are regularly scheduled at Riders Field and generally, we will wait to see conditions at game time before making a call to suspend or postpone a game.
Given that we only have a handful of off days throughout our season, it is imperative we try our best to get the game in when regularly scheduled. We will post updates regarding any game time changes to our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Of course, sometimes we are forced to postpone or suspend a game. In the event that happens, here are some answers to frequently asked questions about exchanging your tickets.
1. What if it’s raining before the game?
Weather in North Texas can change rapidly. Just because it is raining in one area of the Metroplex, it doesn’t mean it’s raining in Frisco. If it is raining prior to our gates opening, we will have our field covered in hopes of playing that particular night. If rain continues into the scheduled game time, RoughRiders management may invoke a rain delay in hopes of getting that night’s game in.
2. What happens if it starts raining during the game?
If it begins to rain during the game, the RoughRiders grounds crew will make sure the field is covered as quickly as possible. A decision to put the game in a rain delay or announce an official rainout will be made in consultation with game officials and in conjunction with RoughRiders management and local weather forecasts.
3. What constitutes a rainout/when will I get a raincheck?
A raincheck is issued if we have to postpone the game before it has started or if we have to suspend the game before five innings have been completed (or 4 1/2 innings if the RoughRiders are winning).
4. How do I exchange my ticket?
Bring your physical ticket stub from the postponed or suspended game to the RoughRiders ticket office during normal business hours.
5. When does my raincheck expire?
Your raincheck expires at the end of the current regular season.
6. What game can I use my raincheck on?
Your raincheck is good for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any other RoughRiders home game during the current regular season, subject to availability.
7. What if I was scheduled to have our group outing but the game gets postponed?
Call your RoughRiders representative to reschedule your group outing for another game during the rest of this RoughRiders season, if available. Tickets must be exchanged in advance of the new date for your group. No refunds will be given, and tickets may not be upgraded.
Another option would be to allow your group members to retain their tickets and exchange them individually for a future regular season game this year in accordance with the individual ticket policy outlined above.
As a last option, you could donate your tickets to the Frisco RoughRiders Community Relations department to be distributed to local charitable youth organizations on your behalf.
8. What happens if a game is called due to inclement weather or other circumstances after five innings have been played?
These games are considered ‘official’ and no ticket refunds and/or exchanges will be processed.
9. How do we know if a game is rained out or postponed before coming to Riders Field?
You can always check our Facebook and Twitter accounts, our website or give us a call at 972.334.1993 and we will be more than happy to let you know what the current situation is for the game.
10. If a postponed game is rescheduled for a double header, do I have to use my tickets then?
No, you may exchange your ticket to any other RoughRiders home game during the current regular season.
