The Hot Rods brought 12 men to the plate in the bottom of the fifth, and battered the Loons with two singles, four doubles and a triple. The eight runs allowed in a single inning ties a season-high for the Loons. Fort Wayne also put an eight-spot on the board against the Loons on April 22.
Game two of the series is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. EDT on Saturday.
