Fireworks, theme nights headline Jumbo Shrimp's 2019 promotional schedule

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Affordable family fun is returning to the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville for the 2019 season presented by Community First Credit Union, as the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp revealed their promotional schedule Wednesday that begins on Opening Night on Thursday, April 4.

Over the span of 70 fun-filled home dates, the Jumbo Shrimp have planned 22 fireworks dates, 13 giveaways, five free military appreciation nights and two specialty jersey auctions. The club also has a lineup of theme nights ranging from the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail (Sauce) Party (May 31), where the Jumbo Shrimp will offer a #CrustaceanNation take on a Jacksonville tradition, to Ramen Noodle Night (June 22), when the team will celebrate the oldest anniversary in the history of Minor League Baseball with the 4,000th anniversary of the Ramen Noodle, and "Florida Man" Night (July 26), when Jacksonville will break a weird Florida law in every single inning.

The Jumbo Shrimp will look to make history on July 30 for Dreams Come True (literal) 2 for Tuesday presented by Community First Credit Union. The club and Dreams Come True are partnering up as they welcome one Jacksonville Dreamer and a parent to be the only two people in the ballpark… to set a Southern League attendance record of just two people. The Dreamer will throw out the first pitch and on Authentic Jersey Giveaway Night, those first two people through the gate will each receive an authentic Jumbo Shrimp jersey. Outside the ballpark on this historic night, the club will hold a party beyond the Budweiser Tiki Terrace with a group singing of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" to celebrate the Dreamer in style.
Halfway to Pumpkin Spice Night (April 27) will feature Pumpkin Spice Shrimp available at concession stands to a myriad of Pumpkin Spice prizes that may or may not have been purchased in October when they were still in the store. The team will also give away 2,000 Jumbo Shrimp coffee tumblers to the first 2,000 fans to help celebrate the midway point in the calendar to pumpkin delight. In addition, the club will celebrate another mile marker on July 24 for National Drive Thru Day. The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville will turn into the world's largest drive thru as cars come through each inning to grab their food from right field.
"Because of all the incredible support we have received in our first two years as the Jumbo Shrimp, we wanted to make sure our 2019 promotional calendar reflects our core values of affordable family fun," said general manager Harold Craw. "We have strived to expand many of our popular promotions, such as fireworks shows and giveaways, while offering new entertainment and fun for each fan who comes to the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville."

With tickets starting at $5 and a $2 hot dog available every game, the Jumbo Shrimp are always affordable. The club's family fun is reflected in each of their weekly specials, leading off with up-close, memorable experiences for the youngest Jumbo Shrimp fans:
Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNdays: Kids can feel the pros before each Sunday home game, as families can play catch on the field, plus Jumbo Shrimp players will be signing autographs. Each Sunday will feature FREE face painting, balloon animals and popular kids show and movie characters roaming the park. Following the game, kids 12 and under can run the bases.
 
VyStar Credit Union Charity Begins at Home Mondays: Local nonprofits have the spotlight at Monday home games. Each Monday, up to two local nonprofits raise awareness and funds throughout the night through ticket sales and the Launch-A-Ball promotion. VyStar Credit Union members can enjoy a Buy One, Get One Free ticket special by showing their VyStar credit or debit card at the box office.
 
Community First Credit Union Two For Tuesdays: Tickets are 2-for-1 at the box office for Community First Credit Union members using their CFCU credit or debit card. Fans who are not Community First Credit Union members can learn more about membership at the CFCU table on the concourse. Fans can also enjoy two for the price of one jumbo hot dogs or regular French fries or 16 oz. fountain sodas. 
Publix Corks & Forks Wednesdays: Each Wednesday night home game (except July 3), fans can purchase a ticket package to sample food and wine specially prepared by Chef Tony from Publix. Each night's wine will be on sale at the ballpark and at Publix.
Budweiser Thirsty Thursdays: All Thursday home games (except April 4) are the best happy hour on the First Coast. Fans can purchase $1.00 12 oz. and $2.00 24 oz. Budweiser products on the Jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Arlington Trail Rated Territory, Oasis concession stand and right field bleachers. Plus, join DJ Swagg and DJ MoneyGud from Power 106.1 will perform at the Budweiser Tiki Terrace each Thirsty Thursday.
 
NAPA Family Fireworks and Red Shirt Fridays, Friday Night Lites presented by Miller Lite: Join the Jumbo Shrimp and NAPA Autocare for Friday Night Family Fireworks as the team lights up the sky each Friday home game this season. In addition, fans can stop by a NAPA Autocare location to pick up a voucher good for a free general admission ticket (while supplies last). Jumbo Shrimp players and staff will wear red each Friday to support the military, and fans who wear red save $1.00 on a ticket at the box office or can donate that $1.00 to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Two Jumbo Shrimp Bold City red jerseys will be auctioned at the season's end to benefit Jacksonville United Service Organizations (USO). In addition, fans can enjoy $1.00 12 oz. Miller Lite and Coors Lights from 6-7:30 p.m. and also receive $1.00 off all craft beers in the Craft Cave.
 
Giveaway Saturdays: The first seven Saturdays (through June 22) will feature postgame fireworks presented by 121 Financial. The first 2,000 fans through the gates each Saturday will receive a free giveaway item. Gates open each Saturday at 5:30 p.m. for 6:35 p.m. games. The items include:
 

 
In addition to their weekly specials, the Jumbo Shrimp will continue to offer active military and veterans $5 reserved tickets to every home game. The team will also host five Military Appreciation Nights (Friday, April 26 presented by Navy Mutual; Thursday, May 30 presented by St. Vincent's HealthCare; Sunday, June 30 presented by Arlington Toyota; Saturday, July 27; Tuesday, August 27), when active military and veterans and their immediate families receive free general admission or reserved tickets.
Jacksonville will also don a pair of specialty jerseys at the Baseball Grounds in 2019. The club will sport Vice Night jerseys on Saturday, May 11 before partnering with the Jacksonville Icemen to become the Jacksonville Frozen Shrimp in wearing specialty hockey jerseys and socks on Frozen Shrimp Night on Saturday, August 24. Each specialty jersey night will feature a silent auction behind Section 106 with jersey bidding ending on the final out of the fifth inning. The Jumbo Shrimp will also auction off game-used road jerseys from April 4-8.
Dogs are admitted for free with a paying human companion on Standard Feed & Seed Canines and Crustaceans Dog Days, which have been expanded to five dates throughout the regular season (April 17, May 14, June 24, July 24 & August 7). The club will also host celebrations for National Shrimp Scampi Day (April 29) with shrimp scampi as a special in the Wheel House Lounge and the Tiki Terrace, National Ball Point Pen Day (June 10) in which the first 1,000 fans will receive a Jumbo Shrimp ballpoint pen presented by John J. Loud and $2 Bill Appreciation Day (July 2), when the first 500 fans will be paid $2.00 to come to the game.
The Jumbo Shrimp will play host six weekday games in 2019, including four Yeungling Business Person Specials. On those dates (April 16, April 29, May 15 & June 11), fans can receive a 16 oz. Yuengling can, jumbo hot dog and reserved seat ticket for just $15.
