Suns, Generals Face Off In Game Four Tonight

May 24, 2014

Following the 8-6 loss in game three of the series on Friday, Jacksonville is left with two more opportunities to claim a second consecutive series victory this weekend. The Suns (23-24) and Generals (18-28) will meet again tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET at Bragan Field.

A win tonight places the Suns right back at .500 for the season. If Jacksonville finds a way to secure the final two games against the Generals, it would put the club above that traditional benchmark for the first time since the season's opening week.

Jacksonville has maintained sole possession of fourth place in the Southern League South. The Suns are six games behind division leading Mobile. Jackson reclaimed the third slot in the North Division with last night's win. The Generals enter Saturday night eleven and one-half games off the pace of the Huntsville Stars.

Last season's home and home series between the Suns and Generals saw Jacksonville take three of five at Bragan Field and two of the three contests actually played in Tennessee. The remaining Jackson dates were cancelled due to rain. This left the overall series at 5-3 Jacksonville.

The current series, which runs through Sunday, marks the Generals only trip to Jacksonville in 2014. The teams are scheduled to meet just ten times overall. The Suns head to Jackson June 11-15 for the completion of the season slate.

Saturday is filled with promotional opportunities and special events. "Bark in the Park" returns to The Baseball Grounds, presented by Pet Supermarket. The Southern Ford Dealers Showcase continues, with the latest rides displayed all around the ballpark.

Fans are encouraged to come early and enjoy a special Miracle League game, scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. Once inside the stadium, it's worth checking into SeaBest Seafood's "Butterfly Breaded Shrimp Dinner Offer." Patrons will find the unlimited shrimp feast available from 6-8 p.m. in the Sundowner Lounge.

The first 3,000 fans through the gate tonight will receive a yellow Marcell Ozuna Replica Jersey. This unique giveaway is brought to you by Memorial Hospital, Fox 30 and 96.9 The Eagle

The Bloodmobile remains parked outside the front gate at Bragan Field, as the folks from Blood Alliance encourage fans to donate blood. The first twenty-five donors will receive two tickets to the game, a hotdog and soda voucher, as well as, a special Suns gift.

Left-hander Justin Nicolino (2-2, 3.38) will receive the call from the Suns in game four, while Trevor Miller (3-4, 3.64) is set to work for Jackson. The Generals hurler will be making his ninth start and tenth overall appearance. Miller has won back to back games as a starter. After dropping his first four decisions, all of Miller's wins have come in the right-handers last three appearances.

Both Saturday and Sunday's home games will be carried live on CW-17 TV Jacksonville. Roger Hoover will handle the play by play. He is joined by Suns owner Peter Bragan Jr., who will provide color for this weekend's Broadcasts.

Fans can also listen to the game live on the Suns Baseball Network, with Michael West providing the play by play descriptions. West will be joined by network producer Jason Patterson. The two will join forces to host the Memorial Hospital Pre-game Show, beginning at 6:50 p.m. ET on the Suns Baseball Network.
