KODAK, Tenn. - Tennessee Smokies right fielder Eddy Martinez led off the bottom of the 10th inning with a walk-off double to left field, scoring first baseman Yasiel Balaguert, who had been placed at second base to begin the bottom of the 10th inning, in a 4-3 win over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at Smokies Stadium Saturday night.

Jacksonville (5-10) took the lead in the first inning against Smokies right-hander Trevor Clifton. Second baseman Isan Díaz hit a leadoff triple down the first-base line. Left fielder Austin Dean walked with one out, before first baseman Eric Jagielo grounded an RBI single into right field. Third baseman Brian Schales added an RBI double down the third-base line to make it 2-0. Clifton did not allow another run in his five innings, yielding four this and one walk with three strikeouts.
In his Double-A debut, Jumbo Shrimp right-hander Pablo López pitched four hitless innings, striking out seven batters and walking one for the only baserunner against him. Trailing 2-0, Tennessee (8-7) tallied its first hit on center fielder Trey Martin's fifth-inning, two-out infield single off right-hander Brandon Barker, who also walked three batters in the inning to plate a run and trim the Jacksonville lead to 2-1.
In the top of the sixth inning, Smokies right-hander Scott Effross allowed infield singles to Dean and right fielder John Norwood with one and two outs, respectively. Schales grounded an RBI single into center field for a 3-1 Jacksonville lead. The Smokies tied the game against Barker in the bottom of the inning, as third baseman Jason Vosler hit a leadoff solo home run to right field, and catcher Ian Rice hit a two-out double before scoring on shortstop Carlos Penalver's single.
Two scoreless innings each by Jacksonville right-hander Jose Pena and Tennessee right-hander James Norwood kept the game at 3-3. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Jacksonville right-hander Marcus Crescentini (0-2), allowed a one-out double by pinch hitter Trent Giambrone before stranding the bases loaded. Right-hander Craig Brooks (1-0) worked around Jacksonville's baserunner in the top of the 10th inning, before Crescentini allowed Martinez's game-winning hit.
UP NEXT: The Jumbo Shrimp continue their series in Tennessee at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, when Jacksonville right-hander Cody Poteet (0-1) is scheduled to face Smokies right-hander Duncan Robinson (0-0). The Jumbo Shrimp return home Thursday, April 26, for Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, with $1 12-oz. and $2 24-oz. beers at select locations, plus $1 sodas at the main concession stands.
