Blaze Jordan blasted a go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the ninth to mark his first Double-A hit. Pablo Reyes went one-for-four with an RBI in his second MLB Rehab game for Portland while Grant Gambrell allowed a lone run across 6.0 innings to start while striking out seven.
Portland plated the first run of the game after an RBI single from Pablo Reyes to score Tyler McDonough in the top of the third inning.
Reading countered in the bottom of the third with a solo home run from Max McDowell to even the score.
Oliver Dunn recorded an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to put Reading on top 2-1.

The Sea Dogs return to FirstEnergy Stadium tomorrow, Sunday July 16th, 2023 for the final game of a three-game series against the Reading Fightin Phils. First pitch for game three is slated for 5:15pm. Portland will start RHP Wikelman Gonzalez (NR) while Reading will send RHP Zach Haake (0-0, 0.00 ERA) to the mound.
