Series Preview: Flying Squirrels' penultimate home series of 2024 packed with promos!

The Flying Squirrels return to Richmond for the next-to-last home series of 2024 vs. the Altoona Curve, Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The six-game set begins on Tuesday, August 20 and will end on Sunday, August 25.

Highlights include Margaritaville Night with Hawaiian shirt giveaway, two firework shows, a Grateful Dead-inspired cover band, tie-dye specialty jersey auction and more!

Tuesday, August 20 vs. Altoona Curve: National Lemonade Day T-shirt Giveaway

We're celebrating National Lemonade Day with a salute to our favorite summer drink!

• The first 1,000 fans will go home with a National Lemonde Day 2024 T-shirt. Fans can choose either a yellow or pink T-shirt to represent their favorite lemonade flavor.
• Fans can swing by the Flying Squirrels lemonade stand to grab a refreshing glass of non-alcoholic or boozy lemonade.
• It’s also the next Silver Squirrels game. Fans ages 55 and older are eligible to join the Silver Squirrels club presented by OrthoVirginia and receive member benefits including tickets to every Tuesday home game, an exclusive T-shirt and a concession voucher. Learn more about the Silver Squirrels

Wednesday, August 21 vs. Altoona Curve: Wine & K-9s and Back to Teaching Night

RVA is headed back to school! Spend a night off at the ballpark to celebrate the start of the school year.

• Teachers, administrators and staff can receive a free General Admission ticket by presenting their school ID at the box office or the Flying Squirrels Front Office.
• Enjoy $5 glasses of wine and $6 wine slushies from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Wine Cart located on the main concourse across from Gilbane Fan Services.
• Dogs admitted for FREE in sections 101-103, 201-203 and first base General Admission. Please request a dog-friendly section if accompanied by a pet.
• Back to Teaching Night is presented by Chick-fil-A and Patient First.

• The first 1,500 fans ages 21 and older will go home with a Margaritaville Hawaiian shirt, sizes S-XXL while supplies last.
• Margaritaville is full of music and togetherness. Listen to the sounds of Jimmy Buffett live on the main stage, thanks to the Hungry Hard Luck Band.
• Enjoy the best Happy Hour in RVA! Sip on $2 domestic drafts from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at all lower concession stands, upper concourse beer carts and the Budweiser Thirsty Acorn. $2 Pepsi fountain sodas are also available at the Papa Johns stand on the main concourse.

• Swing by The Diamond early to listen to Grateful Dead-inspired music from JBB Live.
• The Flying Squirrels will wear special tie-dye, psychedelic-style jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit the MedRVA Foundation. Fans can bid on jerseys here.
• In-Your-Face Fireworks from up close and inside the fences to follow the game.
• Grateful Fans Night and In-Your-Face Fireworks are presented by the MedRVA Foundation.

Sunday, August 25 vs. Altoona Curve: Shell & Tell Beach Day

1:35 p.m. | Gates 12:30 p.m. | Tickets

Learn about shells and marine life found around the Mid-Atlantic Coast.

• The first 100 kids club members to check in at the Kids Club table will go home with a shelling grab bag.
• Throughout the game, fans can learn about shells native to Virginia and the Carolinas.
• Members of the Squirrel Tails Kids Club presented by Atlantic Union Bank get in FREE! The Squirrel Tails Kids Club is free to join for children ages 14 and under and includes a General Admission ticket voucher to all Sunday home games. Click here to register.
• All fans are invited to bring their gloves and play catch on the field from 12:45-1:05 p.m.
• Kids ages 14 and under can run the bases following the game presented by Richmond Family Magazine. Kids can line up to run the bases outside the Squirrels Nest Team Store at the end of the first-base side of the main concourse. Parents and guardians are allowed to accompany their children onto the field and meet them as they cross home plate.
