Series Preview: Squirrels returns home after mid-season break for a set against Rumble Ponies

The Flying Squirrels return home to The Diamond after the mid-season break with a six-game series against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets. The matchup will run from Tuesday, July 23 through Sunday, July 28.

The series features Military Appreciation Night, two fireworks shows, a mid-week matinee and three giveaways!

Tuesday, July 23 vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies: Boulevard to the Bay T-Shirt Giveaway

Celebrate the Flying Squirrels who have gone from the Boulevard to the Bay.

• The first 1,000 fans ages 15 and older will go home with a Boulevard to the Bay T-shirt, sizes S-XXXL, while supplies last.
• It’s also the next Silver Squirrels game. Fans age 55 and older are eligible to join the Silver Squirrels club presented by OrthoVirginia and receive member benefits including tickets to every Tuesday home game, an exclusive T-shirt and a concession voucher. Wednesday, July 24 vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies: Summer Camp Day

Summer campers trek to the ballpark for a day game and FUNN!

• Adults can enjoy $5 glasses of wine and $6 wine slushies from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wine Cart located on the main concourse across from Gilbane Fan Services.
• Kids ages 14 and younger can run the bases after the game. Kids can line up to run the bases outside the Squirrels Nest Team Store at the end of the first-base side of the main concourse. Parents and guardians are allowed to accompany their children onto the field and meet them as they cross home plate.
• Dogs admitted for FREE in sections 101-103, 201-203 and first base General Admission. Please request a dog-friendly section if accompanied by a pet.

Thursday, July 25 vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies: In-Your-Face Fireworks with Cricket Night

Learn about the game of cricket and how it relates to baseball!

• Enjoy a pre-game demonstration of the rules and techniques of cricket on the field.
• Meet Alvin Kallicharran, Cricket World Cup champion and renowned West Indian cricketer, on the stage from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
• Taste Indian food samples from Anokha on the main concourse.
• Stick around for In-Your-Face Fireworks from up close and inside the fences following the game.
• In-Your-Face Fireworks and Cricket Night are presented by PlanRVA.

• Swing by The Diamond early to catch performances from The Salsa Guy on the stage before the game.
• Enjoy the best Happy Hour in RVA! Sip on $2 domestic drafts from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at all lower concession stands, upper concourse beer carts and the Budweiser Thirsty Acorn. $2 Pepsi fountain sodas are also available at the Papa Johns stand on the main concourse.

• The first 1,000 fans ages 14 and under will go home looking like their favorite squirrel! Get your hands on a Nutzy ears cap giveaway while supplies last.
• Members of the Squirrel Tails Kids Club presented by Atlantic Union Bank get in FREE! The Squirrel Tails Kids Club is free to join for children ages 14 and under and includes a General Admission ticket voucher to all Sunday home games. Click here to register.
• Check out the main stage all game for magic performances and balloon animal creations by (vendor name).
• All fans are invited to bring their gloves and play catch on the field from 12:45-1:05 p.m.
