The Rochester Red Wings dropped their Friday night matchup to Indianapolis by a score of 9-1. With the loss, the Wings can now at best tie the series vs. Indy, not having won a series in Indy since 2005.

1B John Nogowski doubled in the Wings’ only run of the night thanks to a 5th inning double, scoring CF Andrew Stevenson.

Starter RHP Franklyn Kilome got the ball for the Wings to start the game for the Wings and logged four innings, surrendering six runs, four of which were earned, on five hits and five walks. The righty struck out two batters in the process.

C Tres Barrera picked up a hit, going 1-for-4 in his return to the Wings lineup after being optioned by Washington. CF Andrew Stevenson, 2B Adrian Sanchez, and RF *Donovan Casey *all collected knocks as well. Stevenson extended his on-base streak to 13 games with his hit.

Indianapolis batters combined for 11 hits including four extra-base hits, two of the homer variety.

After allowing 14 runs to score yesterday and 9 tonight, this marks the highest run total in back-to-back games for the Red Wings this season.

With the Wings striking out just seven in tonight’s loss, the Wings end what is believed to be a franchise record of 15 consecutive games with nine or more strikeouts.

The Wings will send RHP Mason Thompson to the mound tomorrow to keep the series split in play, facing off against the Indians in another 7:05 matchup.

CADE’S DEBUT: RHP Cade Cavalli made his Major League debut tonight for Washington where he logged 4.1 innings of work, giving up seven runs on six hits on two walks. Cavalli struck out six in the process.
