VIBES ANNOUNCE FIRST "TOASTY'S POWERUP CON"

The Two-Day Con is Scheduled for Independence Day Weekend, July 6 & 7, at UCHealth Park

The Rocky Mountain Vibes, in conjunction with Bermuda Esports, are excited to announce UCHealth Park will host the first "Toasty's PowerUp Con" this summer on July 6 & 7. The two-day Con, set for Independence Day Weekend, will feature a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor activities and events,

The Rocky Mountain Vibes, in conjunction with Bermuda Esports, are excited to announce UCHealth Park will host the first "Toasty's PowerUp Con" this summer on July 6 & 7. The two-day Con, set for Independence Day Weekend, will feature a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor activities and events, ranging from video game tournaments to robot fighting and a petting zoo to cosplay costume contests.   
 "This Con is meant to combine the love of video games and the love of physical sports into one event," said Colton Austin, Owner of Bermuda Esports. "You typically have to choose between the two. This Con will marry the two and provide a unique entertainment event for the community."
The catch-all Con, which will run from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both Saturday (the 6th) and Sunday (the 7th), will be uniquely original, offering a little bit of everything. The variety and breadth of entertainment options available at the Con will ensure that everyone-from casual and competitive gamers to families just looking to enjoy the holiday weekend together-will have something for them.
Events and activities will include, but won't be limited to, the following:

  • Video game tournaments with CASH prizes, including a Super Smash Bros. tournament with over 400 people already signed up
  • A retro collectible swap-meet
  • Cosplay costume contest, with the best costumes being awarded prizes
  • Robot fighting
  • Zorb Ball
  • Petting Zoo
  • Archery Tag
  • On-field games
  • The Kids Zone will also be open, complete with brand new inflatables


"We're thrilled to be able to partner with a local business on this unique event and expose our brand to new audiences, while also introducing our fans to the exciting, evolving culture of competitive gaming," said Vibes President and General Manager Chris Phillips. "With the recent surge and popularity of competitive gaming, including talks of potentially becoming an Olympic event in the future, it made sense for us to get involved on the forefront of this wave by hosting the first event of its kind here in our community."
Tickets for the Con will be set at $25 per day, or $40 for the whole weekend. VIP tickets will also be available for $60, and will include free video game tournament entry, a free meal, and a free vendor voucher. The 2019 Vibes season begins June 14 against the Orem Owlz. The home opener is scheduled for June 21 against the Grand Junction Rockies.
