Three Round Rock Hairy Men Earn Postseason TCL Honors

ROUND ROCK, Texas – Three members of the Round Rock Hairy Men have been recognized by the Texas Collegiate League for their contributions during the 2020 season. INF Ryan Hernandez was named the league’s Player of the Year while C Dylan Post and RHP Jason Ruffcorn each earned spots on the All-TCL team.
Hernandez led the 10-team Texas Collegiate League in a variety of offensive categories, including batting average (.364), doubles (9) and home runs (6). The University of Houston product also finished third in the league in runs scored (26), fourth in RBI (24) and fifth in hits (32). He stood out as one of Round Rock’s most prolific hitters in 2020, collecting at least one base hit in 18 of his 23 games played this summer, including 10 multi-hit performances.
The slugger combined to hit five home runs in six games from July 2-9, collecting 10 RBI in that span. Hernandez was named the TCL Player of the Week for June 29-July 6 thanks in part to the barrage of home runs. The Boston native is set to return to the University of Houston to begin his junior season this fall.
Post earned a spot on the All-TCL Team as the Designated Hitter. The University of Houston catcher reached base safely in all 19 games he appeared in during the 2020 campaign, reaching a total of 36 times across 75 plate appearances. Post reached base safely multiple times in 11 of his 19 games, including a pair of contests where he jumped aboard four times. On the year, he posted a .306/.442/.468 slash line.
The New Lenox, Illinois native finished the season with a .306 batting average (19-62) to go along with two doubles, a triple, two home runs and four RBI. Post also drew 13 walks and scored 19 runs over the course of the season. Defensively, he committed just one error in 10 games behind the plate. He is returning to the University of Houston to complete his freshman season this fall.
Ruffcorn posted an impressive summer on the mound for the Hairy Men, finishing the year 1-0 with a 1.97 ERA (3 ER/13.2 IP) across nine appearances, including a start. The University of Oklahoma product racked up 20 strikeouts to only three walks and went a perfect 3/3 in save opportunities. He held opponents to a .255 batting average and a 1.24 WHIP.
The Hyde Park High School alum dazzled in his lone start of the season on July 25 at Acadiana, shutting out the Cane Cutters on six hits and two walks while striking out four in 3.0 strong innings. Ruffcorn will return to Oklahoma for his senior season this fall.
Hernandez, Post, Ruffcorn and the Hairy Men finished the regular season with a 16-11 record and were in first place in the league’s South Division standings prior to shutting down the season after members of the team tested positive for COVID-19.
