MOOSIC, PA (February 27, 2018) - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders have signed an agreement to make Steiner Sports Marketing the club's exclusive memorabilia company. Through this partnership, Steiner Sports will create one-of-a-kind memorabilia and experience auctions for RailRiders fans across the world.
"Our partnership with the RailRiders is an extension of what we are currently doing with the New York Yankees," stated Bob Duffy, the CFO and Vice President of Operations for Steiner Sports Marketing. "We look forward to expanding both the Steiner and RailRiders brands in dynamic ways. The diversity of our relationship includes distribution of game-used memorabilia, the creation of unique items with Scranton alum that have made their way to the big leagues, in-stadium memorabilia auctions and even a mystery ball promotion."
Steiner Sports will continue to partner with the RailRiders to create items that will be available in auctions or for purchase in the team store.
"The professional sports industry is all about the unique experiences we can offer the fan," stated Josh Olerud, the Team President and General Manager of the RailRiders. "Steiner Sports is a global leader in that arena and we are excited about elevating our fan experiences with them."
Brandon Steiner started Steiner Associates in 1987 as a sports marketing firm and, over the last 30 years, has become one of the preeminent memorabilia companies in the world. In 2005, Steiner Sports began a relationship with the New York Yankees and have handled some of the most unique memorabilia in team history, including the frieze from Old Yankee Stadium.
"We are happy to work with the RailRiders on the charitable side as well," Duffy said. "Being able to team up to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer and the SWB Pinstripes Foundation during the 2017 National Championship Game was very important to our staff. We raised $10,000 that day and are looking forward to raising even more throughout the 2018 season."
Steiner Sports also will assist the RailRiders with their annual Legends Series, featuring appearances and autograph sessions. The 2018 schedule of appearances will be announced prior to Opening Day.
