Q: Who were a few players that stuck out to you when you were managing from 2011-2013?
A: Well, you gotta look to the pitching staff, we had a great pitching staff. Guys like
Q: You've been down in Spring Training getting to know the guys who will end up in Stockton this year. Who has caught your eye?
A: Yeah, yeah the guys are playing pretty well. [Lazaro] Armenteros is coming off of a minor injury, he had a slow start, but he's coming around. [Austin] Beck is playing great, you saw he was up in the Bay Series with the A's this week. I'm excited for these guys.
Q: There's always talk in the Big Leagues as to what "kind" of managers are out there: player's managers, analytical guys, etc. How would you characterize yourself?
A: I mix it up, I'm a little bit of both. I take care of my guys, a player's manager, but I get the front office perspective of baseball.
Q: Everyone has to know - what's your go-to spot in Stockton to eat?
A: [Laughs] Oh man, I've heard things have changed since I've been there! I'm always down to try new places - my tongue is always ready for tasting new things, new places. I'm going to need some recommendations from the fans!
