GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers completed a doubleheader sweep of the Burlington Bees with an eight-inning, 2-1 victory in the nightcap. Gabriel García singled with the bases loaded and no outs in the first extra inning to give the Rattlers the win.
Burlington (13-9) had the earliest scoring opportunity as they loaded the bases on two singles to start the inning and a one-out walk. Rattlers starting pitcher Scott Sunitsch escaped the jam by striking out the final two batters of the inning to keep the game scoreless.

Sunitsch racked up 86 pitches through four innings, but managed to keep the Bees off the scoreboard by scattering four hits, two walks, and a hit batsman by striking out eight over four innings. The eight strikeouts set a new single-game high as a professional for Sunitsch.

Wisconsin (9-11) strung together three consecutive singles with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning to score the first run of game two. Connor McVey and Gabriel García each singled with two outs. Jesús Lujano

The Bees rallied to tie the game in the sixth inning. Nonie Williams turned a routine single to center into a hustling double to start the inning. A grounder to the right side off the bat of Francisco Del Valle moved Williams to third base. Alexis Olmeda blooped a single to right over the drawn-in infield to get Williams home with the tying run.

The Rattlers loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give themselves a chance for the win, but a force play at the plate and a strikeout kept the game tied and sent it to extra innings.

Robbie Hitt escaped the top of the eighth inning with the score still tied with a very efficient inning with the extra-inning tie-breaker in effect. The Bees started the inning with a runner at second and Hitt got a strikeout and two grounders to give the Rattlers a shot to win in the bottom of the eighth.

Chad McClanahan started the Wisconsin eighth at second base. Je'Von Ward and McVey each drew walks to load the bases. García sent the fans home happy with a sharp single to right to get McClanahan home with the winning run.
