Rattlers and Kernels Suspended in Third Inning on Tuesday

GRAND CHUTE, WI – Tuesday’s series-opening game between the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Cedar Rapids Kernels at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium was stopped by rain after 2-1/2 innings of play with Cedar Rapids leading 5-0. The game has been officially suspended and will be picked with the Rattlers coming to the plate in the bottom of the third inning on Wednesday afternoon at 12:10pm.
The Kernels took a 2-0 lead two batters into the game. Alerick Soularie singled to start the game. Christian Encarnacion-Strand hit the next pitch over the wall in left for his seventeenth home run of the season.
Cedar Rapids added to their lead with a two-out rally in the top of the third on three straight RBI doubles from Kyler Fedko, Yunior Severino, and Pat Winkel.
The tarp went on the field before the Timber Rattlers could hit in the bottom of the third.
Tuesday’s game will be resumed on Wednesday and played to its conclusion. There will be a break of approximately thirty minutes between the end of the suspended game and the start of the regularly scheduled game. The second game is scheduled to be a seven-inning game.
Justin Jarvis (5-3, 4.11) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers in the seven-inning game. Cedar Rapids has not announced a starter for the seven-inning game.
Fans with tickets to Tuesday’s suspended game may exchange their tickets for any of the remaining Timber Rattlers home games in the 2022 regular season.
The Wednesday afternoon action means there is a Silver Foxes Special from Aspire available. Fans aged 55 and older receive a box seat ticket, a Timber Rattlers seat cushion, a beverage, and a brat or hot dog for $25. This offer is not available online. Fans must redeem the Silver Foxes Special in person at the Box Office or over the phone (920) 733-4152.
The first 1,500 fans through the gates for this game will receive a clear tote bag from Stryker, too.
This is a Bark in the Park game presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Fleet Farm. The left field berm will be set aside for all breeds of dogs to enjoy the game with their families. Admission for dogs is free as long owners sign a waiver that their good doggos are current on their vaccinations (Rabies, DHLP, Parvo, and Bordetella).
If you can’t make it out to the ballpark, the radio broadcast on AM1280, WNAM and internet audio is set to start with the pregame show at 11:50pm. The game is also available to subscribers of MiLB.tv.
