GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers scored six times in the bottom of the second inning to grab the early advantage of Tuesday's game with the Clinton LumberKings. The Rattlers cruised to a 7-1 victory in the first game of the three-game series at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
Wisconsin (23-27) scored six times in the second inning to take control of the game. They loaded the bases with no outs on a hit batsman, a double, and a walk.
Victor Castañeda entered the game from the Wisconsin bullpen and got the final out of the frame. Castañeda worked a scoreless sixth, too.
Clinton (26-24) got on the scoreboard in the top of the eighth inning.
The Rattlers got that run back in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Fry went 0-for-3 in the game and saw his hitting streak end at 18 games.
Piña was 0-for-4 in the first game of his four-game rehabilitation assignment with the Rattlers. He was the designated hitter on Tuesday and is scheduled to catch about half the game tomorrow.
Game two of the series is Wednesday night at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
