Peoria (2-7) took the lead in the top of the second inning as they loaded the bases with one out. Luis Rodriguez knocked in the run with a sacrifice fly.

Jesús Chirinos evened the score in the bottom of the second with a solo home run to left. The homer was the first of the season for the Rattlers designated hitter.

The Chiefs threatened to take the lead in the top of the fourth inning. Osvaldo Tovalin doubled to start the inning. Woessner rose to the challenge and struck out the next three batters while stranding Tovalin at second base.

The Timber Rattlers (5-4) had two outs with nobody on base in the bottom of the fifth inning against Peoria reliever Ian Bedell, but they managed to stage a rally to take the lead without a hit. Bedell walked Ben Metzinger, hit Ernesto Martínez, and walked Je’Von Ward to load the bases. A passed ball by catcher Luis Rodriguez allowed Metzinger to score the go-ahead run.

The run put Woessner in line for his second win in two starts against the Chiefs in the series. On Sunday, Woessner allowed one run on four hits with a walk and eight strikeouts over five innings. In the series, Woessner had thirteen strikeouts over ten innings and only allowed two earned runs while walking three.

Hall added to the Wisconsin lead with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. Hall struck again with a two-run home run in the eighth inning for his first multi-homer game as a professional.

Wisconsin’s bullpen covered the last four innings of the game without allowing a run. Ryan Brady tossed three scoreless frames with two strikeouts. Taylor Floyd tossed a perfect ninth to close out the game.

Catcher Darrien Miller helped defensively by throwing out three Peoria runners who were trying to steal bases in the game.

The Timber Rattlers victory on Sunday gave them a series win over the Chiefs. Wisconsin took four of six from Peoria and climbed back over the .500 mark.
