The Biloxi Shuckers and Montgomery Biscuits were suspended due to rain with two outs in the top of the tenth on Saturday night at Riverwalk Stadium. At the time the game was suspended, the Shuckers held a 6-4 lead. The game will resume on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm, and the Shuckers and Biscuits regularly scheduled nine-inning game will be played approximately a half hour following the conclusion of the suspended game.

Biloxi struck first in the top of the second. Thomas Dillard and Felix Valerio both singled, bringing up Cam Devanney. The Shuckers’ third baseman singled to left to load the bases, but a fielding error by Niko Hulsizer in left allowed Dillard to score from third and give Biloxi a 1-0 lead.

The Shuckers added to their advantage in the top of the third. Sal Frelick started the inning with a single and Joey Wiemer doubled to left, putting two men in scoring position for Andruw Monasterio, who singled to right, driving in both runners to put the Shuckers up 3-0.

On the mound, RHP Carlos Luna allowed just one hit in the first three innings, striking out two and retiring nine of the first ten hitters he faced.

Devanney pushed the Shuckers to their largest lead of the night in the fourth when he launched a solo home run to center, his 11th of the year and second straight game with a homer, giving Biloxi 4-0 lead.

Montgomery struck back for three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. A walk, a hit by pitch and two doubles plated three runs, pulling the Biscuits within one. RHP J.T. Hintzen carried the Shuckers through the fifth and sixth inning, maintaining a one-run lead for the Shuckers.

RHP Noah Zavolas came on for Biloxi in the seventh and worked around traffic to put up a scoreless frame. In the home half of the eighth, Jordan Qsar doubled with one out and attempted to score on a single to right by Kameron Misner, but Wiemer cut down the tying run at the plate, his 11th outfield assist of the year, holding the Shuckers lead at 4-3. Montgomery would tie the game in the bottom of the ninth on a single, a stolen base, a wild pitch and an RBI single.

In the top of the tenth, Wiemer started at second base as the bonus runner. RHP Carlos Garcia walked Monasterio and after a strikeout, Thomas Dillard doubled to left, driving in both runners to once again give Biloxi the lead at 6-4. After a flyout, Devanney drew a walk before the rain came down and the game was suspended.

Once the Shuckers complete their suspended game, Biloxi and Montgomery will conclude their six-game series on Sunday afternoon. RHP Victor Castañeda (1-3, 3.79) is set to get the start for the Shuckers against Biscuits RHP Jayden Murray (6-2, 3.03). The game can be seen on MiLB.TV and heard locally on WGCM AM 1240/FM 100.9 or online here.
