Ponies win Game 1 of DH in Portland, Game 2 Suspended
Portland, ME - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (44-42, 9-13) defeated the Portland Sea Dogs (9-11, 36-51) by a score of 3-2 in eight innings in Game One of a doubleheader at Hadlock Field Thursday night. Game Two was suspended before the bottom of the fourth inning, with the Ponies currently leading the Sea Dogs 2-0.
It will be resumed Friday at 5:30PM to complete the seven-inning game. Friday's regularly scheduled game will become a seven-inning contest that will be played after the completion of the suspended game.

Gavin Cecchini had the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the eighth off Adam Lau (1-3) and finished 2-4 with a run scored in the 3-2 extra-inning win. Eric Hanhold (2-0) pitched two and a third perfect innings of relief to get the win.
Cecchini also doubled in the third inning and was driven home by Ali Sanchez. David Peterson went five and two thirds allowing two runs, one earned, in the no-decision. He is still looking for his first win since June 18.
Binghamton scored their other as Sea Dogs shortstop CJ Chatham committed a throwing error on a Jason Krizan ground ball allowing David Thompson to score from second.
