BUFFALO, NY – Despite a pair of hits by Bo Bichette on a Major League Injury Rehab assignment, the Buffalo Bisons fell in extra innings to the Rochester Red Wings 5-4. Each side scored in the 10th before the Red Wings plated the lone run in the 11th frame.

The bullpen game for Buffalo started off stellar as Andrew Bash kept the Red Wings scoreless through two innings. Out of the six batters he faced, Bash struck out two and allowed only one hit.

The Herd struck first in the game as Ernie Clement whacked a line drive into left field as he reached second. Both base runners, Spencer Horwitz and Bo Bichette, crossed home as Buffalo took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning.

Buffalo’s pitchers continued to pitch with excellence as Hayden Juenger pitched the same stat line as Bash. Juenger threw two scoreless innings, faced six batters, struck out two and allowed only one hit. Bisons still lead 2-0 after four innings.

The Rochester Red Wings began to claw back in the top of the sixth inning when Luis Garcia hit a sacrifice fly to center. Richie Martin scored and brought the Red Wings with one, they still trail 2-1.

The next batter up, Carter Kieboom, kept the ball rolling for Rochester as he smacked a two-run homer over the left field fence. Darren Baker reached home as the Red Wings went up 3-2 in the top of the sixth.

Bichette’s opening game of his MLB rehab resulted in him going 2-3 with two hits and a groundout. He was substituted for Luis De Los Santos.

Orelvis Martinez answered back an inning later as he hit a home run of his own. The ball landed 455ft away from home plate when Martinez tied the game at three a piece in the bottom of the seventh.

After heading into extras, Red Wings reclaimed the lead off of a Darren Baker RBI ground out to shortstop. Jordy Barley was brought home and took the Red Wings up 4-3 in the top of the tenth.

Spencer Horwitz kept the game alive as he hit a clutch single with two outs and down a run in the bottom of the tenth. He drove in Tanner Morris and tied the game at four a piece.

An inning later, a wild pitch got passed catcher Tyler Heineman and Rochester took hold of the golden opportunity. The Red Wings went up a run after Luis Garcia crossed home as they cashed in the winning run.

The Herd was unable to mount another comeback and they fall 4-5 to the Rochester Red Wings in the bottom of the 11th. The two teams play again tomorrow night starting at 7:05 pm.
