JACKSONVILLE, Fla.Kyle Tyler’s six scoreless innings and Troy Johnston’s eight-inning blast propelled the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp to a tight 2-1 victory over the Indianapolis Indians Tuesday night at 121 Financial Ballpark.

After seven scoreless frames and Jacksonville (29-35) ahead 1-0, Indianapolis (26-36) broke through in the eighth. Andrés Alvarezled off with a walk. A bunt single from Joshua Palacios coupled with a throwing error advanced Alvarez to third. With runners at the corners, Liover Peguero hit a sac fly, scoring Alvarez from third evening the game at one.

Jacksonville (29-35) regained the lead for the final time in the bottom of the eighth. Johnston (3) crushed a solo home run with two outs off Indians reliever Brady Feigl (L, 6-2).

Anthony Maldonado (W, 4-2) spun 1.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts, securing the win.

Griffin Conine continued his hot hitting in the bottom of the second inning. With one out, Conine (14) walloped a solo home run off Indians hurler Daulton Jefferies (L, 1-2), his fifth home run in as many gamedays.

Jacksonville and Indianapolis continue their series Wednesday with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. The Jumbo Shrimp will hand the ball to RHP Yonny Chirinos (5-4, 3.25 ERA) and the Indians will counter with RHP Domingo Germán (0-3, 7.97 ERA). Coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. on Bally Live, MLB.tv, MiLB.tv, ESPN 690 and ESPN690.com.

Gates open at 6 p.m. for Forever Vets Canines and Crustaceans Dog Day and VyStar Good is Everywhere Wednesday. The Jumbo Shrimp and Forever Vets Animal Hospital welcome fans and their canine companions to 121 Financial Ballpark. Canines get in free as long as their human companion buys a ticket. The Jumbo Shrimp are also partnering with VyStar Credit Union and Catholic Charities as they raise awareness and funds throughout the night through ticket sales and promotions.
