The RockHounds/DBH and OVG Hospitality hire for a variety of different paid part-time positions beginning in the spring and periodically throughout the summer. Applicants must be at least 14 years of age and will have the opportunity to work many of the team's 69 home games and special events. Details for some of our positions are provided below.

Bat Boy Job Description
Pay Rate: $9-10/hour
Available hours (approx.): up to 25/week in-season
** RockHounds season runs April through September**
Job Duties
- Reliable and professional member of the staff to assist in all in-game and on-field duties associated with the bat boy position
- Arrive approx. one hour prior to game start time, check in with home clubhouse manager
- Must have basic understanding of baseball and baseball rules
- Retrieve all appropriate foul balls during game, make sure game is dead before exiting dugout
- Retrieve all bats, including broken bats and pieces after at-bat is finished, make sure game is dead before exiting dugout
- Deliver new game balls to the home plate umpire when needed – home side BB only
- Assist clubhouse manager in dugout setup of gum, seeds, water coolers, towels, etc.
- Assist clubhouse manager in equipment setup in dugout
- Bring game ball bags to the field prior to the game, deliver to the appropriate dugout
- Deliver baseballs and water to umpires between innings
- Always aware of game play and staying safe while in dugout areas – wear helmet at all times.
Post-Game
- Clean up trash in dugouts – bottles, wrappers, cups, tape, etc.
- Empty all water and Gatorade jugs and return to appropriate clubhouse facility
- Return all equipment and supplies to appropriate clubhouse – ball bags, towels, etc.
- Change out of team uniform and return to equipment room, uniforms to be washed nightly

Camera Operator Job Description
Starting Pay: $8.50/hour
Available hours (approx.): up to 20/week in-season

Job Duties
- Assembling, preparing, and setting up equipment prior to game time, which may include tripods, monitors, cables, and headphones
- Take direction from director during games and in-between innings on what to be filming
- Practicing the framing and camera moves required for pre-arranged shots
- Finding solutions to technical or other practical problems (for an outside broadcast, for example, the natural light conditions need to be considered when setting up shots)
- Being prepared to innovate and experiment with ideas
- Working quickly, especially as timing is such an important factor
- Being able to stand for several hours at a time outside, and carry ~15 pounds of equipment up and down a flight of stairs
- Demonstrating a good awareness of health and safety issues
- Knowledge of the game of baseball a must
Post-Game
- Neatly break-down equipment, wrap cables, and return equipment to camera room

Grounds Crew Seasonal Labor Job Description
Pay Rate: $1,200/month April-September
Job Duties
- Field, tunnel and dugout clean-up following previous night’s game
- Drag warning track
- Clean bases following previous night’s game
- Batting practice equipment prep – prepare trailer, field mats and screens for pre-game BP sessions
- Repair and maintain bullpen areas
- Assist in BP set-up and equipment tear down
- Prepare pre-game field work cart, ensure stocked with proper equipment
- Assist in supplementary cultural practices including: aeration and verticutting

Housekeeping Job Description
Pay Rate: $12-14/hour
Available hours (approx.): 15-25/week pre-season, up to 40/week in-season

Job Duties
- Responsible for assisting in cleaning, sanitizing, mopping and disinfecting all office and staff areas of Momentum Bank Ballpark – including but not limited to individual offices, staff restrooms, office entrances, mail room, conference room, meeting areas, kitchenette, ticket windows, team store and public office spaces
- Removal of trash from individual offices and shared areas
- Assure cleanliness of staff member offices and meeting spaces during pre-season, in-season and post-season (year-round)
- Pre-and-post-season cleaning of clubhouse locker room areas, VIP areas and luxury suites
- Daily cleaning of luxury suites and VIP areas during the season
- Game night duties to include public restroom cleanliness, stocking and replacing dispenser hand soap/paper towels/toilet paper/trash bags, sweeping, general cleanliness
- Willing to work long hours, sometimes outdoors and in weather
- Able to work on their own and with a team of up to 4 others to accomplish cleaning tasks

Parking Attendant/Train Operator Job Description
Pay Rate: $9-11/hour
Available hours (approx.): 25-30/week in-season

Job Duties
Parking Attendant, approx. 5 – 9 PM on game nights
- Responsible for orderly, efficient, and safe entry of cars into VIP parking area, located directly in front of the ticket office area
- Show good customer service when speaking with fans and answering questions – you are the first person fans will see & communicate with on game nights
- Parking lot to open 1 hour prior to gates opening
- Check for proper VIP and season ticket holder parking passes and credentials, both daily and seasonal
- Aware of surroundings while directing cars into parking lot and checking paperwork
- Assist with traffic control to ensure pedestrians are safely crossing the street to enter ballpark
- Give directions to cars who are not able to park in VIP parking area
- Communicate any issues to director of operations or directly to law enforcement
Train Operator, approx. 6-10 PM on game nights
- Allow for safe operation of kid’s train ride on concourse during RockHounds games
- Ensure riders are following all train rules: seat belt, no standing/jumping, stay inside of train cars at all times, safety waiver filled out
- Will work in teams of 3-4 based on crowd size
- Safely assist in loading and unloading passengers onto train cars
- Show good customer service and money-handling skills while speaking with fans, answering questions, filling waiver forms, and collecting ride ticket payment
- Communicate train ride rules to parents and children prior to the train leaving
- Will rotate during the game between walking with train ride and staying at check-in table

- Operates the video boards during games
Music Operator
- Controls all of the stadium music/sound effects/walk-up songs
Official Scoring
- Scores during the game and must have professional knowledge of the rules of baseball
Technical Director
- Handles the live broadcast and provides direction to camera operators
Instant-Replay Operator
- Works closely with the Technical Director to cut replays for the broadcast and video board
Field-Time Coordinator
- Handles the pitch clock and pace-of-play action

Stadium Operations Job Description

Job Duties
Morning Shift, approx. 8 AM – 1 PM
- Responsible for cleanliness of public fan areas of Momentum Bank Ballpark facilities
- Use of small power equipment, including leaf blowers and power washers
- Blow trash and debris from concourse and seating bowl areas
- Use power washer to spray seats prior to RockHounds game nights
- Clean and stock public restrooms after previous night’s game to include sweeping, mopping and disinfecting
- Pick up loose trash from public parking lot and grass berm areas following previous night’s game
- Empty, dispose of and refill trash cans when needed throughout the day
- Wash windows on suite level and team store when necessary
Evening Shift, approx. 6 – 11 PM
- Ensure cleanliness of ballpark during RockHounds games and events
- Keep public restrooms clean and stocked during games to include emptying trash cans, replacing paper products, general cleaning
- Communicate with team members on large nights to divide duties, ability to answer fans questions while working
- Assist in cleaning spills during events in concourse and seating bowl
- Empty, dispose of and refill trash cans on concourse level during events
- Following the game- remove, dispose and replace all trash bags from concourse, bathrooms and other public areas

- Arrive at the box office 1 hour prior to gate opening time to sell tickets to fans attending RockHounds game.
During and after the game:
- Sell tickets to fans using Tickets.com’s ProVenue ticket selling platform up to the middle of the 6th inning or 2 hours after first pitch time.
- Assist fans with ticket issues and questions, including mobile ticketing.
- Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.
- Must have proficient computer skills.

- Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to gate opening time in order to be ready to scan tickets when the gates are opened.
During and after the game:
- Use ticket scanner to scan fans’ tickets and allow them through the gates.
- Assist fans with ticket issues and mobile ticketing questions.
- Stay at front gates for the entirety of your shift.
- Hand out coupons to fans as they leave the stadium on certain nights.
- Assist with safe and orderly exit after the game.

Usher Job Description
Pay Rate: $9-11/hour

Job Duties
Prior to the game:
- clean and dust seats in your assigned sections using dusters, rags, and spray bottles. Assist other ushers in cleaning their section seats after you are finished.
- Familiarize with the area you are working; know key areas of stadium, able to answer fan questions regarding food stands, restrooms, security, first aid, seating chart, etc.
- Greet fans as they enter and assist them in locating their seats, walking with them to escort if necessary.
- Make sure fans with tickets for your section are the only ones sitting in that section as they enter.
During and after the game:
- Enforce all RockHounds, City of Midland, and Momentum Bank Ballpark rules in your assigned section.
- Communicate with front office staff or director of operations for any unruly fans or behavior throughout the game.
- Have safety in mind, making sure aisles, ramps, stairs, and dugout tops are clear during the game. Limit children running in the aisles and concourse due to safety concerns.
- Survey your section each half inning by walking to field level and back while checking with fans.
- Remain standing most of the game, stay at your assigned sections and always paying attention to the game and fans.
- Collect fan donations for Home Run and Strikeout Dollars after each event occurs, bring collected money to Customer Service Booth.
- Check on fans after each foul ball that lands in your section – make sure all fans are ok. If someone is injured or needs attention, communicate with first aid.
- Assist with safe and orderly exit after the game.

Report time 30-45 minutes prior to gate opening time depending on anticipated crowd. End of shift following 90% of fans clear from the ballpark.
