Bowens Homers In Series Opening Loss at Durham

DURHAM, NC --- The Norfolk Tides (62-77, 26-38) fell to the Durham Bulls (69-70, 33-31), 8-1, on Tuesday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Norfolk scored their only run of the game in the second inning when TT Bowens launched his 3rd Triple-A home run this season. The Tides would manage only five hits in the games, however, while Durham exploded for eight runs on nine hits. Seven of their eight runs scored on three home runs. Kameron Misner launched a two-run homer in the first inning, Jake Mangum scored three on his homer in the fifth, and Bob Seymour capped all scoring with a two-run homer in the sixth. Samuel Basallo went 2-for-4 with a double for the Tides in an 8-1 loss.
