OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Round Rock Express (57-50) beat the Oklahoma City Dodgers (62-45) by a final score of 5-3 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on Wednesday night.

Round Rock reliever RHP Chase Lee (1-0, 6.75) did not allow a run over 2.0 innings and he surrendered just one hit with four strikeouts to collect a win. Oklahoma City reliever RHP Carson Fulmer (6-2, 1.83) was tagged with the loss after one inning out of the bullpen which included two runs on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Despite issuing two walks and allowing one hit, RHP Demarcus Evans tossed a scoreless ninth inning and earned his first save of the year.

Along the Train Tracks:

  • DH Sam Huff got the Express started in the first frame. CF J.P. Martinez doubled with one out before Huff came to the box, with two outs, and lifted his 17th home run of the year. The E-Train led 2-0.
  • Oklahoma City sliced the lead in half in the bottom of the first inning. CF Drew Avans walked and DH Edwin Rios singled to lead things off. After a line out for LF Miguel Vargas that advanced Avans to third base, 2B Michael Busch snagged a sacrifice fly and the Dodgers trailed 2-1.
  • Vargas walked to start the offense for Oklahoma City in the sixth inning. After Busch singled to push Vargas over to third base, RF Jason Martin hit into a double play allowing Vargas to score from third base and tying the game at two. 1B Ryan Noda batted next and blasted a 431-foot home run to help the Dodgers take a 3-2 advantage.
  • Round Rock took advantage of a leadoff double from 2B Ryan Dorow in the seventh inning. After C Matt Whatley put down a sacrifice bunt to advance Dorow to third base, LF Nick Solak singled to score Dorow and tie the game at three.
  • The E-Train loaded the bases in the ninth inning after a walk for Dorow, a single for Whatley and a walk for Solak. Martinez singled through the right side of the infield to score Dorow and Whatley and the Express led 5-3. Despite Oklahoma City loading the bases in the ninth inning, RHP Demarcus Evans closed out the game.
