Four errors hurt the Biloxi Shuckers (41-46, 7-13 2nd Half) in a 7-5 defeat against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (45-39, 10-10 2nd Half) on Saturday night at MGM Park.

Biloxi jumped out to a lead in the first inning. Sal Frelick started the frame with a single and Andruw Monasterio was hit by a pitch, putting two men on base for Garrett Mitchell. The outfielder smashed a ball to the top of the center field wall that appeared to go over the fence but was ruled in play, resulting in a double that made it 1-0. Joey Wiemer then delivered another run with a sacrifice fly, widening the Shuckers advantage to 2-0.

The first two men reached for Pensacola in the top of the second on back-to-back throwing errors. After a lineout, a single and a strikeout, Jose Devers drove in two runs with a single to center. A third run scored on a throwing error, the third of the inning, which put Pensacola in front 3-2. LHP Brandon Knarr (L, 1-3) bounced back from the misfortune, retiring 10 in a row from the second through the fifth inning.

Cam Devanney pulled Biloxi level in the home half of the fourth. Tristen Lutz singled with one out and motored in to score on a wall-banger from Devanney, squaring the game at 3-3. The Shuckers put the go ahead run on third in the fifth inning when Frelick doubled to start the inning and moved to third on a groundout. RHP Zach McCambley (W, 5-5) struck out the final batter he faced, stranding Frelick at third to keep the game level. The double was one of three hits for Frelick on the night, his seventh multi-hit effort in the month of July.

Pensacola moved in front for good in the top of the sixth when Victor Victor Mesa doubled in a run. Cobie Fletcher-Vance hit a two-run homer to add to the lead and Thomas Jones finished the scoring for the Wahoos in the sixth with a solo to left of his own.

In the bottom of the seventh, Frelick and Monasterio both walked on four pitches to begin the inning. Mitchell slashed a double to left, his second hit of the night, sending Frelick home to make it 7-4. An RBI groundout from Wiemer pulled Biloxi within a pair but Mitchell was left stranded at third. RHP Colton Hock (S, 10) retired Biloxi in order in the bottom of the ninth inning to lock down the save.

Biloxi concludes their three-game series against the Wahoos on Sunday evening at MGM Park. The Shuckers are scheduled to throw RHP Carlos Luna (3-4, 5.07) against Pensacola RHP Eury Perez (3-1, 3.05) for a 6:05 pm first pitch.
