KEY PLAYS
- Down 4-3 into the bottom of the eighth, the Cyclones put together a clutch rally to take the lead 6-4. Luis Gonzalez drove in a pair with a two-run single to take the lead, and the Cyclones took advantage of three ‘Birds errors in the frame. Willy Taveras earned the save in the top of the ninth inning, striking out Gunnar Henderson to strand the bases loaded and win the game.
- Lamar Sparks tripled and scored on an RBI groundout in the top of the fifth inning against Brooklyn’s Luc Rennie, giving the IronBirds a 4-3 lead after entering the frame down 3-2.
- Antoine Duplantis banged a go-ahead RBI single in the fourth inning against Aberdeen starter Brandon Young to push the ‘Clones in front 3-2.
