TONIGHT'S GAME: Iowa and Omaha square off in the opening game of a four-game series at Werner Park. The I-Cubs haven't met their American Northern division-rival Storm Chasers since the last series before the All-Star break. Iowa has won six of its last seven, and looks to tie its season-long winning streak of four games. The I-Cubs own a 12-17 record in opening games of series this season.
COMEBACK CUBS: Iowa trailed 1-0 in Thursday's 2-1 win over Sacramento, earning its 17th come-from-behind victory of the season. The I-Cubs have been no stranger to overcoming early deficits to win, with each of Iowa's six wins on the recent homestand occurring in comeback fashion:
WITHIN ONE WIN: Iowa has won three games in a row, one win shy of tying its longest winning streak of the season. The I-Cubs have won four in a row on two different occasions this season, from May 16-19 at Las Vegas (5/16-5/18) and vs. Tacoma (5/19), and from June 24-27 at Round Rock (6/24-6/25) and vs. New Orleans (6/26-6/27).
ONE-RUN PHENOMENON: The I-Cubs played in their PCL-leading 40th one-run game of the season on Thursday, improving to 24-16 (.600) in those games. In Iowa's last 13 games dating back to July 28, the team has played in a one-run game in every other game.
HIPS DON'T LIE…BUT HITS DO: Iowa was out-hit 10-6 on Thursday despite defeating Sacramento 2-1, the second time on the homestand Iowa was out-hit by four and still won the game (out-hit by Fresno 11-7 and still won 5-4 on August 6). The I-Cubs improved to 17-44 (.279) when being out-hit by their opponent, much better than their 2016 record when being out-hit (8-50, .138).
AGAINST OMAHA: Iowa and Omaha meet Friday night for the third of four series and the eighth of 16 games this season. Iowa took the first series between the two in June, going 3-1 in four games and outscoring the Storm Chasers 30-14. In that series, Iowa dominated, hitting .292 compared to Omaha's .259 average over those four games. In the clubs' most recent clash, Iowa took two of three from Omaha from July 7-9, the final series heading into the All-Star break. Tonight, the I-Cubs and Storm Chasers will meet at Werner Park for the first time in 2017.

CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF YOUR GLOVE: The I-Cubs have now gone three consecutive games without committing an error. This comes after a rough 12-game stretch from July 26 - August 7 where Iowa's defense made 15 errors including a season-high four on August 3 vs. Fresno. The most games the I-Cubs have gone without an error this season are five games from June 10-14.
