Home Run Derby X is baseball, but not as you know it.

Built around power hitting and defensive hustle, Home Run Derby is making it's Nashville debut Saturday, August 31 with marquee names taking the stage. But what is it?

HRDX is an exciting 3-on-3 co-ed competition, with each team consisting of an MLB legend, female player from the softball and baseball world and a local Middle Tennessee hitter that tries out for the competition. Each game will take about 30 minutes, giving two teams the chance to go head to head, earning points on offense for home runs hit during a 2 minute and 30 second at bat, and on defense for catches on the field. Bonus points are earned by hitting home runs into Paradise Park or by calling for a hot streak during a players at bat, where for 5 swings, everything counts as double. In the final minute of the at bat, players can tag in a teammate to finish with a flourish.

The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. It's that simple.

Nominate a Hitter

The best thing about HRDX? You can be on the team.

We are searching Middle Tennessee for locals to join each team and compete in the ultimate home run competition with these elite baseball and softball players. Be warned: hitting over 300 feet is harder than it looks.

Applications are open now where you can show us your skills and tell us why you should join the team and represent Nashville on the biggest hitting stage First Horizon Park has ever seen.

Nominations are now closed.

Applications are open now through June 12, 2024. From the applications, finalists will be selected to attend an in-person tryout on June 27, 2024 and the final participants will be notified by July 2, 2024.
