Along the Train Tracks:

  • Round Rock used the long ball to quickly take a 5-0 lead in the first inning. After a one-out walk for SS Ezequiel Duran, 1B Zach Reks bunted for a single. DH Nick Solak then cranked a three-run home run that traveled 403 feet to left field. LF Steele Walker extended the inning with a two-out single before 3B Andy Ibáñez hit a two-run shot that barely cleared the wall in left.
  • C Sam Huff and RF Josh Sale joined the home run party in the third inning when a one-out solo homer from Huff traveled 422 feet. Back-to-back singles for Walker and Ibáñez set the scene for Sale. His line drive three-run home run to left field left the bat at 108 miles per hour as the E-Train led 9-0.
  • Las Vegas finally got to RHP Cole Winn in the sixth inning. A leadoff home run from LF Skye Bolt ended the shutout for a 9-1 Round Rock lead.
  • Walker brought the fans to their feet with a solo home run in the sixth inning. The fifth home run of the night for Round Rock traveled 415 feet and extended the Express lead to 10-1.

E-Train Excerpts:

  • RHP Cole Winn tossed a season-high 6.2 innings. It was the second-longest outing of his career and his longest since June 21, 2021 when he dealt 6.1 frames for Double-A Frisco. The longest start of his career came back on August 28, 2019 while pitching for Low-A Hickory.
  • Round Rock RHP Jesus Tinoco, RHP Jonathan Hernández, and RHP Yerry Rodriguez did not allow a run out of the bullpen. Tinoco’s 0.1-inning performance saw only two pitches, which were both strikes. Hernandez threw a three-up, three-down eighth inning that included two strikeouts. Rodriguez came on for the ninth inning and allowed one hit while collecting two punchouts.
  • The home run for 3B Andy Ibáñez was his first for Round Rock this season and his first since April 22 when he was playing for the Texas Rangers against the Oakland Athletics.
  • E-Train C Sam Huff hit the longest home run of the night and became the first Round Rock player to reach 10 home runs in the process. Huff finished 1-for-5 with a home run, a run scored and an RBI.
