Years with the Patriots: 2022 - present
Steven Cusumano is in his third season with the Somerset Patriots as the team’s Play-by-Play Broadcaster and Manager of Media Relations and Broadcasting. Prior to joining the Patriots, Steven served as a Broadcast Assistant for the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2021-22 season, hosting content and features that aired on Lightning Radio broadcasts. In 2020, Steven also worked as a Broadcast Assistant for the Tampa Bay Rays, producing audio content for Rays Radio. In 2023, Steven filled in as a pregame and postgame host on the Rays Radio Network.
During his time as a college student, Steven broadcasted play-by-play for Pac-12 Network’s coverage ofArizona State University baseball and softball during 2018 and 2019. Prior to joining the Patriots, he last called Minor League Baseball play-by-play in 2018, when working as the Play-by-play Broadcaster and Media Relations Coordinator for the Tri-City ValleyCats: former short season Class-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. Steven also called MiLB play-by-play in 2017, as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Orem Owlz; former Rookie affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels.
In addition to broadcasting play-by-play of all Patriots home and road games, Steven’s responsibilities for the Patriots include media relations, content creation and social media management. On the side from his work with the Patriots, during the off-season, Steven freelance broadcasts college athletics at local universities, including Rutgers and Princeton. Steven was born and raised in Staten Island, New York and later moved to Queen Creek, Arizona. He graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Journalism in 2019.
