Red Sox unveil Spring Training schedule
For those Red Sox fans already salivating for their first baseball fix of 2013, there are now some dates to focus on.
The club unveiled its Spring Training schedule on Monday, and Boston will open with a single-admission doubleheader on Feb. 21 against college opponents Northeastern University and Boston College. The first game will start at 1:35 p.m. ET at JetBlue Park.
Manager John Farrell's team will face a Grapefruit League opponent for the first time on Feb. 23, with a home game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
There will be two rivalry matchups during the Grapefruit League. The Yankees pay a visit to Fort Myers on March 3 for a 1:35 p.m. contest, while the Red Sox travel to Tampa to face the Bronx Bombers on March 20 at 1:05.
The Red Sox will bust out their green St. Patrick's Day uniforms for a home game with the Rays on March 17 at 1:35.
With the third World Baseball Classic taking place this spring, the Red Sox will host Team Puerto Rico at 7:05 p.m. on March 5. Tickets for that game will be half-price.
The Sox will host 20 games at state-of-the-art JetBlue Park, which is entering its second season. In all, Boston will play 38 exhibition games, 35 of them in Grapefruit League action.
Tickets for Spring Training home games will be available on www.redsox.com on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m.

Boston's first pitchers and catchers workout will take place on Feb. 12, with the first full-squad workout on Feb. 15. All workouts are open to the public and free of charge.
