Red Sox Recall Daniel Nava from Pawtucket
The Boston Red Sox today placed outfielder Shane Victorino on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain. To fill his spot on the 25-man roster, outfielder Daniel Nava was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket, and he will be active for this afternoon's 4:10 p.m. game against the Rays at Tropicana Field.
Executive Vice President/General Manager Ben Cherington made the announcement.
Victorino, 33, sustained the hamstring injury in last night's game against the Rays. This will mark his second stint on the disabled list in 2014, after beginning the year with a right hamstring injury. In 21 games for Boston this season, Victorino has batted .242 (22-for-91) with five doubles, one triple, one home run, 10 RBI, and has scored 10 runs.

With the PawSox, Nava has hit .253 (21-for-83) with three doubles, three home runs, and 14 RBI in 24 games. In the majors in 2014, Nava has batted .149 (10-for-67) with two doubles, two home runs, and three RBI. Defensively for Boston, he has played 15 games in right field (14 starts), three games in left field (1 start), and two at first base (both starts).
