Vote Earl Weaver for Promo of the Year

Salisbury, Md. - The Delmarva Shorebirds are in the running for 2011 MiLB Promo of the Year. Earl Weaver's appearance on June 21, 2011 at the 2011 South Atlantic League All-Star Game is currently up for "Celebrity Appearance" of the year.

Earl Weaver's visit to Perdue Stadium is currently in first place, just in front of Al Kaline's appearance at a Connecticut Tigers game. To help the Shorebirds, click here to vote for Earl Weaver as the "Celebrity Appearance of the Year".

Voting ends on October 13. The winners from each category: Celebrity Appearance, Theme Night, Giveaway & Miscellaneous will compete for the "Promo of the Year" award.

The legendary Orioles manager signed autographs during Fan Fest and served as honorary caption during the plate meeting. Weaver, who served as the Orioles manager for 17 seasons, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996.
