Bridgewater, New Jersey - The New York Yankees have added INF Caleb Durbin and C Jesus Rodriguez to the 40-man roster.
Durbin, 24, has spent parts of four minor league seasons in the Atlanta Braves (2021-22) and Yankees (2023-24) organizations, batting .269/.374/.407 (276-for-1,026) with 187 R, 64 2B, 6 3B, 22 HR, 153 RBI, 134 BB and 110 SB in 281 games.
In 2024, the infielder batted .275/.388/.451 (92-for-335) with 61 R, 25 2B, 2 3B, 10 HR, 60 RBI, 53 BB and 31 SB in 90 combined games with and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Single-A Tampa and Double-A Somerset. Among Yankees farmhands, he ranked fifth in stolen bases, eighth in on-base percentage, and 10th in batting average and RBI.
Following the 2024 season, he played for the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League, batting .312/.427/.548 (29-for-93) with 26 R, 5 2B, 1 3B, 5 HR, 21 RBI, 17 BB and 29 SB in 24 games. His 29 stolen bases set a new Arizona Fall League single-season record. Durbin was also named an AFL “Fall Star” and the AFL’s “Breakout Prospect of the Year”.
The Evanston, Ill., native was originally drafted by the Braves in the 14th round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.). Durbin was acquired by the Yankees from the Braves along with RHP Indigo Diaz in exchange for LHP Lucas Luetge on December 28, 2022.
Rodríguez, 22, combined with High-A Hudson Valley (56G) and Double-A Somerset (23G) to hit .302/.375/.481 (89-for-295) with 48R, 15 2B, 4 3B, 10 HR, 47 RBI, 33 BB and 9 SB in 2024. Rodríguez appeared defensively in 2024 at catcher (35G/30GS), third base (23G/22GS) and left field (13GS).
Over parts of five minor league seasons (2019, ’21-24) in the Yankees organization, Rodríguez has batted .311/.397/.477 (312-for-1,004) with 185 R, 64 2B, 14 3B, 25 HR, 167 RBI, 136 BB and 49 SB in 282 games.
The La Victoria, Venezuela, native was signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2018.

Earlier in the off-season, the Yankees added former Patriot C/INF J.C. Escarra to the 40-man roster.
Escarra, 29, combined with Double-A Somerset (72G) and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (52G) to hit .261 (111-for-426) with 77 R, 32 2B, 3 3B, 12 HR, 64 RBI, 55 BB and 3 SB in 124 games this season.
Among Yankees farmhands, he ranked first in doubles, was tied for second in runs scored, third in extra-base hits (47), fourth in hits and fifth in total bases (185). Escarra appeared defensively in 2024 at catcher (59G/58GS), first base (27G/27GS), third base (19G/17GS), left field (3G/3GS) and right field (3G/3GS).
Over parts of five minor league seasons in the Baltimore Orioles (2017-19, ’21) and Yankees (2024) organizations, Escarra has hit .249 (394-for-1,583) with 227 R, 90 2B, 8 3B, 42HR, 231 RBI, 210 BB and 12 SB in 467 games.
The Hialeah, Fla., native was originally selected by Baltimore in the 15th round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft out of Florida International University. Escarra was signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on January 11, 2024.
