Cam Smith did it again.

The Cubs' 2024 first-round Draft pick continued the hotter-than-hot stretch of his early pro career by homering in his sixth consecutive game en route to Single-A Myrtle Beach’s 5-2 win over Charleston.

Smith smashed a game-tying two-run homer off left-hander Dalton Fowler (Rays), sneaking it over the fence in right-center field fence at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

The Cubs' No. 8 prospect is arguably one of the hottest players, not just in the North Siders' system, but all of the Minor Leagues. Since entering the professional ranks on Aug. 9 after being chosen by Chicago 14th overall, Smith has compiled a slash line of .319/.411/.787 with a 1.198 OPS. He went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and two RBIs on Sunday.

The Florida State product had four hits through his first nine games with the Pelicans before making an adjustment that has made all the difference in the world while showing why the Cubs nabbed him in the first round.

“I would say the main thing was timing,” Smith told MLB.com on Saturday. “That's always something that us ballplayers have to get used to when you get back into the flow of things."

The right-handed hitter led the Seminoles to the Men's College World Series with a .387 average and 16 home runs while earning All-American honors.

Smith and Myrtle Beach will have a day off before he gets the chance to extend the streak to seven against Down East on Tuesday.
